Ultra Throat Relief

Soothe a sore throat.

Due to poor diet, soil depletion, food processing, aging, and stress, most individuals do not receive enough zinc in their diet. In fact, statistics indicate that an average intake of 47% to 57% of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) is not enough to prevent deficiency. And yet, zinc is an important mineral for supporting the immune system, as well as treating common cold symptoms like sore, scratchy throats.

Pure Essentials Ultra Throat Relief is a biocomplete, good-tasting formula combining three activated forms of zinc (citrate, aspartate, and glycinate) for direct transporter-activated absorption and utilization. Because every person absorbs zinc differently, Pure Essentials Ultra Throat Relief’s unique formulation acts effectively and quickly to resolve your cold and flu symptoms.

Additional nutrients in the formulation that function synergistically to further promote relief, include:

  • Vitamin C, a proven antioxidant, to strengthen the immune system.
  • Echinacea purpurea, an herb that boosts immune function and stimulates white blood cell production. Echinacea also has antibiotic, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties, which provide powerful synergy.
  • Slippery elm (Ulmus fulva), an herb that soothes inflamed and irritated mucous membranes.
  • Proanthocyanidin oligomers (OPCs), a type of flavanol. These active and soluble proanthocyanidins act as anti-inflammatory and antiviral agents, and also as an antioxidant and synergistic cofactor for the action of ascorbate (vitamin C)

The most well-known benefit of zinc is its ability to reduce the incidence of cold symptoms (e.g. sore throats) and duration of illness, which has been shown in more than a dozen studies. Zinc is also known to inhibit the growth of cold-causing viruses. To note, it is important to take zinc in an appropriate dose, as individuals who consume too little of it will not receive its full, cold-fighting benefit.

In a randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, researchers studied the effects of zinc lozenges on the common cold. Patients received either zinc lozenges or a placebo every two hours until their symptoms were gone. Researchers evaluated zinc’s effects on symptoms including cough, headache, scratchy throat, sore throat, sneezing, and fever. The result of the study was that zinc lozenges decreased the duration of cold symptoms by nearly half compared to the placebo group.

In another study, researchers reviewed seven previous randomized, controlled trials on the effectiveness of zinc gluconate lozenges for treating the common cold. The study concluded that the evidence supports the use of zinc lozenges for reducing the symptoms and duration of the common cold.

In addition to its effective cold-fighting properties, the benefits of Pure Essentials Ultra Throat Repair zinc in your body are manifold:

  • • Immune healing and repair. Zinc is involved in more body functions than any other mineral. Experts estimate that over 10,000 enzyme reactions require zinc, many of which are involved with immune defense and repair.
  • • Adolescent growth & development. Zinc is an essential mineral for teens. Reproductive hormones increase sharply during puberty, requiring significant amounts of zinc. Additionally, when zinc is in short supply, the skin suffers, resulting in a host of teenage skin problems, including acne.
  • • Healthy, smooth skin. Acne, burns, eczema, psoriasis, and wounds that heal slowly are all signs of low zinc status. Studies show that zinc is superior to tetracycline for treating acne. For additional nutritional support for skin problems, include the multivitamin, Pure Essentials 2.
  • • Additional benefits. Zinc is essential for growth, development, sexual function, immune function, and chemical detoxification.
